Brief
Outline
‘I have recently digitised a collection of negatives and prints dating back to my time with VSO in Carriacou, Grenada, from August 1967 to July 1968. Taken together with my diary logs they represent a rather unique view of island life during this period.’
Aim
My aim is to produce a blog which gives an illustration of the social structure of Carriacou during this snapshot period.
Objectives
· Write up posts on a variety of themes.
· Reproduce photographic images which complement each post.
· Provide opportunities for comment and feedback.
· Provide opportunities for others to submit articles, photos or other media accessible material to create a broader perspective on life in Carriacou at that time.
Target Audience
· Inhabitants of Carriacou and Grenada.
· Caribbean people in general.
· People who have visited the islands.
· People with an interest in anthropological studies.
· People interested in socio-cultural features in Carriacouan life and history.
The Solution
- A standard WordPress template was chosen, to reduce design costs.
- The WordPress framework was used because it’s features fit Bill’s objectives perfectly.
- Also because of the nature of the objectives hosting and domain names were taken care of courtesy of WordPress.
